La práctica de ejercicio físico produce beneficios tanto psicológicos como físicos. Pero, en algunos casos, hacer deporte también puede ser contraproducente, pues cualquier cosa llevada al extremo puede ser perjudicial. El Síndrome de Sobre Entrenamiento está asociado a un entrenamiento prolongado y/o excesivo y a una inadecuada recuperación.
La planificación deportiva correcta es muy importante porque permite que el deportista se ajuste al Síndrome General de Adaptación, es decir, permite la adaptación del cuerpo del deportista frente al entrenamiento y los estímulos que le provocan estrés, ya sea físico, bioquímico o mental.
Por tanto, una buena planificación contribuye a incrementar el rendimiento deportivo y alternar entre trabajo y descanso permite una recuperación suficiente y una mejora en las cualidades físicas del individuo.
Existen una serie de síntomas que se presentan de manera frecuente cuando un individuo sufre este síndrome, pero es necesario recalcar que no siempre aparecen todos estos síntomas.
- Físicos y Fisiológicos: incremento de la presión sanguínea y mayor ritmo cardiaco durante el descanso, problemas respiratorios, temperatura corporal alta, hipotensión, pérdida de peso, pérdida de apetito, aumento de la sed, problemas gastrointestinales y dolores musculares.
- Inmunológicos: vulnerabilidad a las infecciones y reducción de las defensas del organismo.
- Bioquímicos: aumento del cortisol. adrenalina, serotonina, aumento de los ácidos grasos en el plasma, disminución del glucógeno muscular, de la hemoglobina, el hierro y la ferritina.
- Psicológicos: alteraciones del estado de ánimo, letargo, ansiedad e irritabilidad.
Es claro que realizar ejercicio es bastante benéfico para la salud y bienestar personal, sin embargo, recuerda tomar los descansos adecuados para así, obtener los resultados esperados. ¡Cuida tu salud!
